This is a re-post in request for those of you who wanted to pick up the tracks again.
I love going out to clubs and stumbling across a random band that really make an impression. I went along to see datA last Friday at Valve, wandered upstairs and the first act was just setting up. I had thought it was just going to be DJ’s all night but was interested to see a tough Korg and a keytar getting started. Turned out to be a local act, Outrun, that had always managed to slip by me. Seriously, go check out Dan and Josh live. The vocals sound like a calm Kurt Cobain laid over a twisted and deep synth line, and on a club system just sounds crazy.
Oh, and I’m pretty sure we saw on of the Gribble kids from round the twist dancing like a penguin the whole set. Another highlight.
