WAVES AT NIGHT

RATATAT & CAZALS

I think it must just be me, it seems. I never really got into Cazals. Phil’s voice just got on my nerves. I never knew why. Now that Ive listen to the album I do. All the songs are just radio friendly, meandering indie fodder. But you know, Im not saying this means theyre a crap band, just personally not to my tastes.

One band that IS though, is Ratatat. Always exciting, always different. The new album, LP3, sounds alot more considered and thought out that Classics, but still keeping with their trademark jittering, glittery guitar work. Though alot of the tracks feel remarkably down tempo from previous material, it doesnt feel like theres much to have you jumping around like Wildcat did, it is still a great album.

I love Cazals. Cherish them. I respect your view but….I really don’t see how someone could listen to them without liking every single song. They’re amazing!

  5. I on the other hand didn’t like the new Ratatat album (while i found their two previous ones interesting)
