56K WARNING: ALOT OF FLYERS IN THIS POST
The festive season is probably finished now, so moving in its place is the party season. If you aren’t at Falls, Pyramid or any other thing they run around this time of year then you should definitely hit the LAST FUCKING EVER NIGHT EVER AT THIRD CLASS EVER, [...]
“Christmas time, when, really we should remember this is a time for spiritual uplift, a time for Oneness with the universe and Donovan. It is not a time for heavy drinking, over eating and casual sex with farm animals – that’s out of the question.”
- Ian Anderson, Jethro Tull.

Discovered by Animal Collective while recording their new album, Dent May’s smooth summery swing pop debut is due for release in Feb on Animal Collective’s Paw Tracks label. Another good summer tune, it’s like a slow cruise down the river into a gold sunset. Reminds me in shades of Bobby Darin, and that can only [...]
Dear Emile Hirsch,
Sorry, I was never the biggest fan of your movies. The Girl Next Door was kinda ok mainly because of Elisha Cuthbert being all hot and sweaty and sexy etc. Actually Speed Racer was pretty fun as well. But the music youve been putting out recently under the guise of ‘Emil And Friends‘ [...]
A guilty guilty pleasure, “Where Were U in ‘92?” is the title track from an album of incredibly cheesy old-school rave that sounds like it’s circa 92 but is in fact the debut LP from Zomby on Werk Discs.
It’s more of a side-project than a proper debut as Zomby’s regular output is more chip-heavy and [...]
The duo of Richard Norris & Erol Alkan have got together once again to release another ‘re-animation’ under their guise ‘Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve‘. This time they’ve transformed the latest single from Franz Ferdinand, opting away with 99% of the original vocals and retaining 5 words which really do dominate the remix in a creepy [...]
New stuff from Melbourne producer Tim Shiel (Faux Pas). Described as ‘psychedelic balearic’, I’m intrigued already. He’s taken quite a different approach to new producers these days and is giving his new Waterfalls EP away for free from his website (donation optional).
BTW: Lets get some discussions going here about all these tunes guys. What are [...]
Its been rather quiet around the Waves camp recently. Sorry about that guys.
First up is a new track that Ive only just been allowed to post. Oh Mercy are a band sitting comfortably amongst the new up-and-coming crop of Melbourne artists starting to make a name for themselves including The Harpoons, Little Red, Seagull, Touch [...]
I’ve become a fan of anything Ilija Rudman touches and his latest offering is no exception. You can find this track on his latest EP release ‘Burning Of The Midnight Minds.’

This next track has been a favourite of mine for a few years now and I’ve only just discovered this [...]
Finally, after several fantastic remixes to get us all excited, Montreal’s disco/dub/8-bit upcomer CFCF has dropped their debut EP ‘Panesian Nights’. Its good. Really good. Well, at least most of it is (there are a few tracks which sound just a little flat, and would definitely sound much punchier with vocals to compliment them, other [...]
