Probably my pick of the Big Day Out acts and/or sideshows is legendary DFA ghouls Holy Ghost!. In deadly form, Holy Ghost! will be in full force for a must see show at The Toff, Saturday 24th of this month.
To further continue I’ll use the blurb that’s on the event’s page (via facebook):
For all those that were lucky enough to witness Tim Sweeney’s set you know this is one event not to be missed. In the intimate surrounds of the Toff in Town, Hear Now & The House deFrost present Brooklyn’s hottest property HOLY GHOST! playing records for your dancing pleasure. The Duo of Alex Frankel & Nick Millhiser, best known for their releases on DFA they were also part of NY hip hoppers Automato (another Murphy (LCD Soundsystem) & Goldsworthy (ex-UNKLE, T&T) [ both make up the DFA, DFA records] produced band). Nick is also part of The Juan MacLean live band, while Alex tours with LCD Soundsystem; there is nothing these two can’t do. Backed up by local support from Andee Frost & the legendary DJ RANSOM fresh back from a jaunt in new york with a container full of records!Doors open early 10pm – 5am for a full nights disco dancing. 1st round of tickets has already sold out so I strongly advice you to get yourself down to Hear Now, like.. right now… the only place to get remaining tickets people.
Panthers – Goblin City (Holy Ghost! Remix)
Only Fools and Horses – Spectacle Wins (Holy Ghost! Remix)
Micheal Jackson – Get on the Floor (Holy Ghost! Edit)
MGMT – Of Moons, Birds & Monsters (Holy Ghost! Remix)
In Flagranti – Business Acumen (Holy Ghost! Cover Version)
Cut Copy – Hearts on Fire (Holy Ghost! Remix)
Moby – I Love to Move in Here (Holy Ghost! Remix)
Most of you kids out there are probably feeling lost without Third Class so while on the topic of the Toff, I want to introduce you all to The House de Frost. And what no better man to have for a host on a Saturday night than Andee Frost, responsible for the bliss and magic that is heard for 5hours straight each night at the House de Frost, at the Toff. Frosty says “it’s basically a platform for me to play the music that I love in the nicest setting in Melbourne”.
The Toff has one of the best sound systems in Melbourne (designed by John Hall (Cut Copy’s sound man)). Entry is absolutely free; so yes, this does mean your precious funds can go towards dancing lubricant. Andee is sometimes joined by friends from overseas and interstate, but when on his own it is just one huge epic solo ride throughout the whole duration of the night. The music is predominately disco, in the purest gayest form. It’s either that or nothing I say. But of course, you may hear some reggae to the “classic” house music, the good house music… none of this Willy Wonka shit you hear around today.
Oh and put this in your pipe and smoke it: The Toff in Town was voted as one of the worlds Best Clubs in V magazine New York! Massive props.
I suggest you leech onto the HearNow Podcasts and download the latest one Andee has done (below).

Looking forward to this very much
