WAVES AT NIGHT

SONG OF THE WEEK

This is my chance for me to go back through all the stuff that has been caught in my head the past few weeks.

First up is a big dramatic new-wave track from Depeche Mode. With all this attention being on The Presets at the moment, Ive had an urge to go back where it all started with some early Depeche, and its been good.

MP3: Depeche Mode – Stripped

Everyone knows The Smiths, everyone owns ‘Meat Is Murder’. This is the first track. I love it. Jangle Pop at its best.

MP3: The Smiths – The Headmaster Ritual

An old Cut Copy B-Side that Ive been digging since their first EP recently got a few refreshed listens in my headphones.

MP3: Cut Copy – B.A.B.Y

Beaches are basically a Melbourne five piece, all dream-babe band that play crazy psychedelic garage rock. Pretty much the coolest girls in town and absolutely kill it every time I see them play.

MP3: Beaches – Sandy

Do you have anymore songs off Cut Copy’s EP “I Thought of Numbers”?

  3. Justyna says:

Would it be okay to post some? (for those who do not own Austrailian iTunes accounts and therefore cannot buy the EP)

keep posting the cut copy b – sides. the’yre too hard to find in the states. “I Thought of Numbers” is impossible to find, but i got lucky and met an Australian nice enough to share it with me.
