Well here comes another Song Of The Week post. Not much that interesting has really been grabbing me recently. I am excited however about one of my favorite bands (Black Moth Super Rainbow) releasing a new album in the next few months, called ‘Eating Us’ (out on Graveface Records). If you don’t know of/haven’t listened to these guys, just search for their tracks on waves. Warms, fuzzy, mellotron laden, psychedelic, mmmmmm. This track is actually off their new ‘Don’t You Want To Be In A Cult?’ 7″.

Now for anyone who digs anything remotely associated with Trip Hop, Flying Lotus, even J Dilla or anything on the entire Warp Records label. Hudson Mohawke is a man from Glasgow making some very fucked up, experimental hip hop tracks. These inevitably got the attention of Warp, so it looks like we’ll be hearing alot more of Hudson Mohawke this year.
Sonic Youth got a little bored in the mid 80’s and decided, with Legendary bassist Mike Watt, to release the Whitey Album. Basically a tribute album to Madonna and 80’s pop, but still with that thick, grungy Sonic Youth sound. Below is definitely the best track off that album, a cover of Madonna’s ‘Get Into The Groove’.

into the groovey is a dynOmite track, the cutters included it on their Fabriclive cd, what a great ode to madge!
Nice to see Rip It Up getting another airing. It’s a true classic, peerless, one we don’t hear nearly often enough.
