This is the part of Hip Hop I love the most: the beats. Its always been about the beats, particularly from the J. Dilla school of sound. I think thats why Ive been falling so hard for the recent tunes from dudes like Flying Lotus, Bullion, Hudson Mohawke and Onra. These particular tracks come from the 7×7 Beat Series from All City Records. It was 7″ records released over a period of 7 months by 7 up and coming beat producers. Worth checking out. I love that Revenge Of The Nerds sample too.
