I posted an old A Certain Ratio track maybe last week or so, and since then Ive been digging into their ‘newer’ stuff (like ‘82 still). I really am surprised that these guys weren’t bigger. They had all the elements: signed to Factory Records, 80’s punk-funk dance, and they were all seriously stylish guys.
This is a bit of a departure from the darker sound of their first album, ‘The Graveyard And The Ballroom’, but still does the trick.
This is the track from last week too:

Out Hud. My god Im pissed off theyre not together anymore. I mean sure three of them are bouncing around in the equally as amazing band !!!, but both of Out Hud’s albums ‘S.T.R.E.E.T. D.A.D.’, and ‘Let Us Never Speak of it Again’ are absolute un-aging dance punk classics. Please, if you do not own these albums yet, go out and get them immediately because there is no way you could be disappointed.

Pretty great mix of dance-friendly post punk here. Great stuff!
absolutely love this, thank you for the tip. unfortunately can’t seem to find any info on them…
A Certain Ratio are fantastic – they’re playing at Offset Festival in London this September with the Slits which will be great.
Everyone knows them from Shack Up but Do the Du is my personal fav.
