WAVES AT NIGHT

I sift through alot of music so its really exciting when something just instantly grabs you, and you get that feeling like this could be a band that is going to be popping up alot more in the next year or so. The Isolation are just that. The Swedish band are a bit of a mix of neo-psychedelia, dreampop and post-punk, and have just released their debut EP “All Heroes Are Dead”. Seriously, if you dig Ride, My Bloody Valentine, early BRMC, BJM or anything inbetween then have a listen.

And speaking of dream-pop, heres a classic from 90’s UK band Lush. This one really is particularly beautiful.

Smith Westerns (Chicago) have seemingly burst onto the current scene of lo-fi/noise rock/shitgaze, joining the likes of Vivian Girls, Times New Viking, Black Lips, Wavves on a quest to thrash our eardrums. The album as a whole comes off as quite an authentic sounding 60’s fuzz-surf rock soundtrack. Its not all amazing but tracks like ‘Tonight’ really do shine.

Anything Lullabies In The Dark do is always quality. The Belgian post-disco act, formed by Vito De Luca (of Aeroplane) and Jim Adam, cant seem to go wrong. ‘Code 7429′ does start off with quite a cheesy, almost Euro-pop synth line, but builds up within seconds to push it further a tough disco club track.

this isnt strong enough for you? Just because it aint disco doesnt mean its not good. Now that Nu Rave has died, everyone has jumped on the bandwagon and joined Nu Disco, but what happens when that gets too crowded and dies?

  6. patch says:

They will start listening to Nu Rave!

  7. Chicago is a Roy Ayers track, almost identical to the FF one. A shame he doesn’t name it “Roy Ayers – Chicago (Fred Falke Remix)” – the way it’s supposed to be… ripping off other artists is eaaazzyyyyy )

The Ep will be followed by a new record in the making right now.
I think it will be released sometime later this fall.
