>Chicago is a Roy Ayers track, almost identical to the FF one. A shame he doesn’t name it “Roy Ayers – Chicago >(Fred Falke Remix)” – the way it’s supposed to be… ripping off other artists is eaaazzyyyyy )

2 Boogie Business, aleks discodust:

What the hell are both of you mumbling about? The original author of this track is FULLY credited on the release! "Chicago" is written by Roy Ayers. Published by Crystalis Music. Used by permission from Global Chrysalis Music Publishing (check credits for example here: http://www.discogs.com/release/1931426 )
That means that Roy Ayers fully authorized this release and will receive all royalties for that! It's not like Falke is ripping him, bootleging or something like that. So STFU and skip the blog and better go and buy 12-inch or digital download to reward BOTH Falke and Roy Ayers. Punks!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KB4GvOzX-Ds

Has been sampled almost identically already, 12 years ago.. still, Falke's output does sound like a nicely updated version of this mix which is cool..

I'm with Boogie Business on this one. I think the inclusion of the vocal hook is what solidifies this as more of a remix to me. But I do enjoy this remix nonetheless. I must say, Falke usually is good with using 'Edit' on his tracks instead of calling them originals (check his essential mix).

there a other variation of roy's track, it's called chicago chicago from "secret ingredients" and he doesn’t name it roy ayers too

check Dj Sneak - back in the box compilation

it's simply a sampling

Thanks for the up. It's possible that the white label was just a demo he was testing out. It wouldn't surprise me given how incredibly boring it is compared to his other recent work. There's more variation in So Much Love To Give!

I'm really not impressed with this cut-up of Chicago, either. Yuck! And I love Roy Ayers! Hopefully the rest of this EP fares better than that "When We're Together" nonsense he put out earlier this year.

boogieman: who cares. people do this all the time, pretty standard by now.

(but of course every time some random blog reader recognizes a sample once a year, there's demands like these coming up.)
