THE ‘BRISBANE, QLD’ EDITION

RIO LOBOTOMY
… is a collaboration between Charlie Murdoch (Charlie Why/Mitzi) and Adam Hunter (WolfGang DJs/ We’re Wolf) from Brisbane, Australia.

Their first project together is a re-working of the club classic ‘Bostich’ from Yello, as part of Beatport’s ‘Legends of Electronic Music’ remix series. Inspired by the punk attitude to electronic music adopted by the likes of In Flagranti, Padded Cell & Optimo, as well as infomercials and quiz shows of decades past – expect to hear and see more from Rio Lobotomy in the coming months.

Their ‘Bostich’ remix sees the track taken on a darker, pulsing disco ride, with throbbing bass guitars, menacing vocals, and stabs of instrumentation that made the original the classic it is today.

Launching Jan 7, the party will feature a DJ set from Datarock (fresh from Sunset Sounds), myself (Trick Adams), as well as YOUTH, and of course, residents Charlie Why & WolfGang DJs.

Youth has done a great remix of Candles In The Rain. Melanie Safka’s original version already had a great energy but Youth has taken it to a new level. Loved it!
