With the upcoming Parklife festival almost upon us (Australia Only feat. headliners 2ManyDJ’s and Soulwax plus many more!) and everyone absolutely aching for a perfect quality of the much hyped MGMT- Kids (Soulwax Remix) to be released (or pop up somewhere in blog land…) the majoirty of the music world is literally creaming their pants once again for the 2 Many DJ’s. But really, did anyone ever stop creaming them?
So to tide everyone over until they get to see these legendary brothers in action (or at least dream about it) heres a mix that has been floating around on the internet since last week (much love to ‘Bobby Digs It All’ for his post on lowbee) from their latest set (24-08-2008) recorded live at Cream Fields Festival in the UK on BBC Radio 1. With Park Life just around the corner, all i can say is that if their set at Park Life is anything like their one at Cream Fields last week, i will not be the only one Creaming my pants….

FATBOY SLIM (The BPA)-THE BPA- TOE JAM FT. DAVID BYRNE & DIZZEE RASCAL
Everybody’s friend FATBOYSLIM has been hard at work again (as one of his alias’s: The BPA a.k.a The Brighton Port Authority) this time collaborating with the huge musical talent of DAVID BYRNE (TALKING HEADS) and DIZZEE RASCAL in his brand new song: THE BPA- TOE JAM . The song is a catchy little number with both Byrnes and Rascals unique vocals suiting the style very well, but the clever video clip almost out-stages such a unique and interesting collaboration. Decide for yourselves…
Well well well, looks like another uni semester down and can i just say FUCKING FINALLY!! Big apologies for the slackness of my posts to this blog, my life has been revolving around many infuriating ASS-ignments and exam preparations but now that it’s all over for a while i can now start sharing some music with the world!
So to make up for my recent poor form i break bread with guys with these mini mashes from Annie Macs Radio One show. These are a bunch of 5 minutes mashes done specially for her program by some of the best in the business including 2 Many Dj’s, Drumattic Twins, Diplo, Kissy Sellout, MSTRKRFT and Digitalism. I know some of these have already been posted on other blogs but they came to me as a bundle and in a bundle is how they shall be shared….
Babes. Raves. Vampires. Blood and Guts. And a Banging Soundtrack (Teenage Bad Girl - Cocotte). What more does one need in a film! The above is a trailer for the upcoming movie ‘Beyond The Rave’ that PROMISES all which i have just mentioned, and so so much more. Check it out and tell me your not excited!
I am perhaps breaking one of the supposed unwritten commandments of music blogging (thou shalt not post own music) by doing this but if I have committed a sin then send me straight to bloggers hell! Here’s two mash-up/boot-legs/edits/wtf’s? which I have done myself that (since their creation) many people have asked me for. Use Them. Abuse Them. Love Them. Or Hate Them, I don’t mind…but be quick on them as like the world was created in seven days, this devilish duo are only available for download for seven days and than they will be joining me in the fiery depths of BLOGGERS HELL!
As we all now stand here teary-eyed, waving goodbye to the end of summer and what inevitably means is the end of Summer Festival Season i thought i would post a track that reminds me of the good times the season brings! Yves Larock’s Zookey is an oldie but a goody and many of you will remember hearing it on one of the earlier Bang Gang Podcasts. With it’s Jamaican drum-lines and deep/rough male vocals this sexy song makes ya wanna go and drink coconut cocktails and dance the night away on a beach somewhere far far away! As i mentioned before, it has been around for a while now, and has just been re-released with a heap of new tasty remixes for you guys to wrap your teeth around. So make sure you check it out on Juno or other reliable vinyl/cd distributors and support this nostalgic summer anthem!
The first track is Bob Sinclair’s remix of Zookey which i feel gives the track a bit of kick, ooommphhhhh and bounce.
Whilst the second is Baltimore, Baile Funk (and everything left right and in between) up and comer DJ Mat Cant’s superb remix. He has been doing great things all over Victoria from Shepperton, Geelong, Ballarat and to Melbourne and is also supporting AJAX, Kid Kenobi and Generik at the Moonlight Party in Bendigo tomorrow night! He only just finished and sent me this remix which i think not only suits the B-more heads out there, but everyone who likes to shake their big bustlin booties on the dancefloor. LIFT YA LEG UP! LIFT YA LEG UP!
