WOW! Finally got some tunes from the new Boys Noize ‘Oi Oi Oi Remixed’ CD, brought to you by Boys Noize Records [BNR CD003]. & although Lava Lava/My Head (Para One/Feadz) remixes were released a while ago (same with the Surkin mix of ‘Don’t Believe the Hype’), it has some new mixes that haven’t graced our ears yet. The PUZIQUe mix of ‘Frau’ is amazing, it’s beautiful, it’s out of this world.
EDIT: Just read the Erol Alkan forums, and I cannot believe that I couldn’t recall hearing the very same remix on BNR 006 ‘I-Robots - Frau’ [2005!]; it’s actually the ‘Kid Alex Minimal to Disco Mix’, just being re-labeled for the Oi Oi Oi Remixed CD. SNEAKY!
‘Let’s Buy Happiness’ has cleverly been re-vamped by Proxy, still using the framework of the song but Proxy just gives it a little more edge.
I’ll seize writing and introduce whats coming soon to Boys Noize Rec… good stuff!
Acid Jacks return with a remix of Twinpitch’s successful song ‘Nonstop’ (reached 7th place in the German Club Charts; not bad ey ey?). For all you cats out there that want the original and other remixes, buy this release at Beatport pronto.
I’ve also put up an extended bass remix of the Jack’s ‘Disco Shoes’ tune, just for any adventurers out there that like to get their funk-bass-groove-on.
Now let’s progress with news from the Knightlife camp. His first release ‘I’ is now available at Beatport so get on it! ‘Ambopop’ and ‘All Systems’ included in that bad boy. In terms of remixes, well, this news makes me quite moist. . . Bag Raider’s ‘Nil by Mouth’ Knightlife (stream it at his myspace or suss discobelle) remix featured on a Raider’s remix 12″ out on Bang Gang 12″s this week with other remixes from ZZZ and Whitenoise - get it here. It just doesn’t stop there, oh god no. Riot in Belgium has teamed up with Knightlife to remix Alex Gopher’s ‘Aurora’ with that 12″ being out soon.
Still staying close to home with the news here, I’m still twiddling my little thumbs with anticipation of Boys Noize’s remix of ‘Lights & Music’ by Cut Copy. I’m really loosing my patience here people.
You know when you just cant stop playing a certain song? You go through your itunes/winamp (whatever) looking for something to put on and just cant go past playing that song one more time. In my case it usually kills it and I cant listen to it anymore. But this track I cant get out of my head. ‘Dont Go!’ is a new release from PUZIQUe (a collab between Boys Noize and D.I.M.) under Boysnoize Rec. and has more of a nod towards the classic french filtered house sound of the 90’s. Boys Noize will be here next month, and even though D.I.M. was here recently, I have heard possible news of Puzique playing a gig at around the same time. Lets hope so.
