Like What?!

Very talented Sydney Duo ‘Like Woah’ return to the scene with a brand new release on the Bang Gang 12 Inches label entitled ‘Raw/War’. The EP is available August 20th and promises more club mayhem with tracks ‘Discombobulator’ & ‘Girls Sing’. The first single from the EP is ‘O.S.O.F’ and showcases both the progression and skills that this duo have acquired in recent months, it’s a haunting deep bass jam that gives off a little Busy P vibe at times, definitely one to watch out for.

PS: Also keep your ears peeled for their new side project ‘Ted & Francis’….

UNDERGROUND

Das Pop is a Belgian band, founded in the town of Ghent. A few bells might be ringing - their 2007 track “Fool for Love” was red hot, receiving remix action from the likes of SebastiAn, Aeroplane, Yuksek and Brodinski.

Das Pop’s latest tune “Underground” was featured on the rejected Fabriclive mix that Justice did not so long ago. “Underground” has a warming late 80s/early 90s vibe to it and just sounds so soothing, so simple. Take a listen to it here.

And as expected, there is going to be some remixes floating around. There’s already been a Kids Gloves remix in the air so go on a search for that one. Even our very own Van She have chipped in to produce a nice ‘clubby’ version of “Underground but I got some questions to ask: Has Busy P changed his ways and gone all Crookers on us? Is Van She Tech releasing remixes under their band name of just Van She and totally ditching Tech? Or maybe this is just due to poor tagging of tracks hmmm! Whats the story here readers?

D S L

Normally I can’t listen to rap/R&B/watevaz… well when its overally commercial that is - just really gets on my goat badly. But for some reason I have a soft spot for french rap/r&b. Long time Headbangers/Ed Banger family members DSL have brought out a new single (their first for Ed Rec) titled “Invaders” [ED20][buy here], a fuse between electronic and hip-hop. It features remixes from the king himself Busy P, newcomer Djedjotronic and Zoukatronic (which is actually Djedjotronic according to the Discogs entry for ED20 & his myspace). Top notch!
