Innervision’s Dixon has an unofficial release on the obscure Philomena label which features two great edits – Romanthony’s ‘The Wanderer’ (contains kick drum and bassline sample from ‘Martin Buttrich – Hunted’) and on the flip is Lykki Li’s ‘Dance Dance Dance’. Massive. Try and find this although I think the 12″ quite sold out.

From the people that brought us the Discos Capablanca label comes this new offshoot. Los Massieras is a re-edit project formed by two Berlin DJs aiming to bring “a fresh approach to the art of bastardization.” ‘Boogity Boogity Boogity’ is their first EP, which also launches the new label Banamania. Anyone who knows me personally knows that I love a nice ripe banana and this release is no exception (and no readers, that remark isn’t suggesting anything fishy…). Mutant discooooowww.

Dimitri from Paris is releasing his fifth compilation for BBE in May entitled ‘Get Down With the Philly Sound’. This particular selection focuses on the “Philadelphia disco sound that was so successful throughout the ’70s, and paved the way for disco fever to spread across the United States.”

Far out. Michoacan’s (Miranda Rios) debut DFA release is dead on the money – amazing shit here. Something about it… Has a nice cheeky, playful and cosmic-y vibe to it. Ugh, I’m so hooked! BUY.

THE CRYSTAL ARK:
Gavin Gussom’s latest project The Crystal Ark is best described as “a perfect distillation of those varied sounds into infectious, spellbinding dance floor music.” His first 12″ out on DFA under this project is titled “The City Never Sleeps” – a great example of how Gavin has evolved from his Black Meteoric Star project. The psych/acid house is still there but really, it is now more refined. I’m feeling this one immensity- starts with simple acid house,… then the vocal,… and then the climax (screeeech screeech!). Raunchy. BUY.

Having explored a number of directions in their formative stages, World’s End Press (Melbourne) have somehow found their feet moving about in a post-millennium adaptation of classic Disco and House Music. Their loyal following of dancers is testament to an extravagant and exciting live show. Having spent the latter part of last year recording their debut album, and having recently teamed up with Love and Mercy Records, they are now placing finishing touches on the record with co-producer QUA at Electric Dreams Studios.
I can testify that these boys put on a fantastic show. I caught them the other week at the Workers Club in Fitzroy and by the end of the set the band room was filled with beach balls, sweat dripping from the walls, a dancing Daft Punk-esque robot and lots of happy faces.
The Single ‘Only The Brave’ (plus remixes) is out now on iTunes so buy.

“Rushing to Paradise (Walkin’ These Streets)” was released earlier this year to almost universal acclaim, with House of House – aka Saheer Umar and Still Going’s Olivier “Liv” Spencer – hitting the nail on the head at the first time of asking.

The Black Cock Records co-boss Harvey Bassett aka. DJ Harvey (who’s also in Map of Africa with Thomas Bullock (Rub N’ Tug)) reworks the original magically and gives the track his perfect touch, taking it to new levels. Also, it must be noted that Harvey is the first DJ to support House of House.

Our favourite indie-disco-pop act Cut Copy have done a marvelous remix of the ultimate DFA anthem of 2008, as you guessed, “Happy House”, by raddest of rad The Juan MacLean. Buy this sucker at Itunes right now.

Bang Gang’s and ex-Riot in Belgium big boy Beni released his killer track “Maximus” a while back on Kitsune, featuring Sam Sparro on the vox. A remixes EP also followed dropping late last month but the mix you are about to grab hasn’t been put out there in the interwebs so consider this an xxxclussiveee.

My homeboys Andee and Ooh Ee have been conjuring up storms left, right and center, producing two mixes for “Maximus” known as the Blue and Pink versions. You can pick up the RMX’s EP right now on Beatport where you can grab the available Pink Version but compared to its sister, the Blue version is more of a chilled house number, which screams sexyness. Oh so sexy.

The two lads also did a mix and dub for the Presets track “Kicking & Screaming” which was out on Modular a while back. Nice acidy, housey techno. Should also note that the dub was on Tim Sweeney’s BIS Radio Show #482.

I’ve also been informed that Andee & Ooh Ee are indeed working on an EP that will be sometime out in the future. I wanted more info on this but all I got from Andee was “(it will sound like) rohypnohouse with a splash of acid topped off with with a little bit of tranny techno.”

I know many have been hanging out on getting their mits on this track. Falke played this amazing track aaages ago on the Third Class Radio – we did a post on this so look back at our archives. I do believe the sample used was not able to get cleared so it will remain unreleased. He did, however, chop up the vocal and made a track out of it (“Back to Stay”) on the new EP (“Chicago”) coming out on Work It Baby. The bitrate for this track I’ve posted is lowered since I don’t want a huge backlash from posting it. You can still dive in and enjoy the track – its pure. What more do I need to say? My favourite is Italians’ Do It Better wondermites Tiedye’s magic touch to Kaos’ “Love the Nite Away” – purrs at me everytime I hear it.
