Probably my pick of the Big Day Out acts and/or sideshows is legendary DFA ghouls Holy Ghost!.

Most of you kids out there are probably feeling lost without Third Class so while on the topic of the Toff, I want to introduce you all to The House de Frost. And what no better man to have for a host on a Saturday night than Andee Frost, responsible for the bliss and magic that is heard for 5hours straight each night at the House de Frost, at the Toff. Frosty says “it’s basically a platform for me to play the music that I love in the nicest setting in Melbourne”.

The Toff has one of the best sound systems in Melbourne (designed by John Hall (Cut Copy’s sound man)). Entry is absolutely free; so yes, this does mean your precious funds can go towards dancing lubricant. Andee is sometimes joined by friends from overseas and interstate, but when on his own it is just one huge epic solo ride throughout the whole duration of the night. The music is predominately disco, in the purest gayest form. It’s either that or nothing I say. But of course, you may hear some reggae to the “classic” house music, the good house music… none of this Willy Wonka shit you hear around today.

Oh and put this in your pipe and smoke it: The Toff in Town was voted as one of the worlds Best Clubs in V magazine New York! Massive props.

I suggest you leech onto the HearNow Podcasts and download the latest one Andee has done (below).

Turbo’s next installment has just flown in and landed quite recently. I am indeed talking about Proxy’s next huge thing “Raven”. The original has already been flying around the interwebs for sometime now (which I suggest you get ahold of as the breakdown is quite epic). That being said, the original is the gem of the bunch.

Yes I know some people are starting to go “ugh, not that Proxy sound again” – I’m hearing it more and more as more artists are going for the similar sound. Well, at least we are gradually phasing out from that Crookers real generic bad wonk/bassline thing they had going. But what can we do about it? Absolutely nothing.

Anyway, nice clever remix here by Polymorphic.

MP3: Proxy – Raven (Polymorphic Remix)
MP3: Proxy – Dance in Dark

And something else that is one of the best things I’ve heard this year that the blog should have covered some time ago that also quite happens to be on Turbo is of course Moby’s “I Love to Move in Here”. With the Holy Ghost! touch it is just simply divine – _this_, my friends, is where its at.
