So they finally released something! However the quote “We were an art project that got out of hand, but now we are a band.”  refering to their new album, kind of worries me. Will be interesting to see listeners reaction especially after the rumored scrape of an unreleased album.

Like my sense of reality, i haven’t seen Noel Fielding around for awhile. However I’m sure (like reality) he has been doing lots of stuff… but I’m straying of the topic here. My good friend Jordan Doig, who will not doubt be a famous film maker very soon, clued me onto this yesterday. Its funny how these things come about but Kasabian have always been one of those bands that i never really gave a proper listen too
But a band that has a music video Directed by Richard Ayoade (Moss from IT crowd) and staring Noel Fielding as ‘Vlad’ a russian horror villian. Must be, for lack of better words, fucking awesome!

The new album ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’ is due to be realed on June 8th and you can preorder it here

About 10 other blogs have already posted this news and Pitchfork has already done a feature article… i don’t care. I’ve never been so excited about a band combination before! Not like this. I love the rawness of The White Stripes and without sounding pretentious, i really do prefer their older stuff eg. black math, hand springs and red death at 6.14.
I can say the same for The Kills, the sexiness and raw power of Alison Mosshart, fuck, its just a dream. So when i read the text message this arvo, ‘fuck fuck fuck! VV and Jack white are starting a new band omgomgomg…’ It was like i just saw two of my ex-girlfriends making out in the street, apprehensive but turned on at the same time.

TELEPATHE – SO FINE

Probably the best choreographed dance number I’ve seen since the movie production of west side story. Directed by Katherine Nolfi from Telepathe’s album Dance Mother, in stores in America April 14th through IAMSOUND Records etc etc etc.
I know, i know. Not exactly ‘amazing fresh wow oh fuck exclusive’ content here. This has been out for a couple of days and you have probably already seen it on more amazing blogs that always manage to get stuff 5 years before its been produced or conceptualized by some 10 year old, who is way before his time and can play 16 instruments with his teeth. What was the point i was making again? oh yes, Telepathe are very good.

The lovely man Yama Indra from Damn Arms, aka G.L.O.V.E.S was nice enough to send us his remix of the new Sneaky Sound System single ‘When We Were Young’ Released November 12th. The remix will be featured on the single along with remixes by Sinden, Juan Maclean and Breakbot. Although i’m not the biggest fan of Sneaky Sound System, I am a fan of anything that Yama does, in particular the gbgg sweaty wet dirty damp remix he did last year. Thanks Yama good to hear some new stuff.

zomg. Finally The self titled new album is coming out on the 16th of August. Although i sound like a teen reviewer for dolly magazine i have been a massive fan of Mercy Arms for awhile, although Kirin may steal my girlfriend with his ‘yeah i can wear a wedding dress but girls still want to sex me’ look. The album has been produced by Tony Cohen who has worked with the likes of Nick Cave. The album is a lot different to what i thought it might be. Has a very Pete Doherty pop vibe too it? Don’t hurt me for saying that..  Please, please buy their album(on itunes?) they have been working hard on this for quite awhile AND go see them on tour. Seriously one of the best live bands to see. Take your girl/boy friend and just hope the band doesn’t steal them away.

Right now, my eyes are bleeding with mucus and i barely have the energy to attend my yearly Après-ski. I have the flu/cold/whatever and it really sucks. Now usually when i’m in this state i listen to nothing but an ambiance CD of rain forest noises that i stole from my yoga/meditation teacher Mother. But I am quickly getting sick of this flu and have resorted to more aggressive music in the hope i can just thrash dance it out of my system.

New Judas is not only getting rid of my cold but it’s making me want to start slam dancing with my hot water bottle. New Judas is a Finnish based record label and is fucking amazing. The artwork is done by The Zonders Vänskap which is how I found them and have various artists who i have never heard of before.

I recommend you give this Label a decent browse. Especially make the effort to watch the video clip for Huoratron – $$ Troopers. Not only is the song genius but it also makes you believe the techno Viking might be doing a collaboration with a Ketamine/VHS influenced Michel Gondry but most of all… It’s really, really… really good. Like really.

So like I haven’t posted anything for a while. I’ve kind of been busy lost in my own mind trying to decide if I should go overseas or if I should throw away my life looking for a full time job. So what have I discovered? Well not much, but in a space of one week I did find out that magic mushrooms grow behind my old high school oval and that my mum knows that i used the word ‘cunt’ and/or ‘cunty’ in my last post

If you have heard of mika mako then you have probably heard of these guys before. But if you live outside LA then maybe not? They are apparently touring Australia towards the end of this year with pets with pets possibly supporting. Like i dunno. You really have to listen to ‘everybody’s down’ on their myspace its fucking amazing but they also have a tribute song to bjork which is a pretty sound cover.

I’ve had a stalker before and its really kind of creepy and scares the shit out of you at the time. But when you get a band named ‘the stabs’ with a song ‘never going home’ with lyrics… “you got my number and then you never called, so i got some duct tape and kicked in your front door” it makes obsessive violence cool again.
So instead of buying another pair of cheap mondays just stalk your ex and listen to the stabs.
