J.P.s Force – Time To Throw Down

Im still spinning the last Subway album (‘Subway II’), even this long after it came out, and Im totally hooked on the krautrock fed disco. Their new EP, ‘DBO’ was recently released on London label Deadly People, and is three tracks of pleasurable arpeggiations.

Blancmange grew from the 80’s UK New Wave scene alongside bands such as Depeche Mode, Soft Cell etc. I still really dig their second album ‘Mange Tout’; an amazing goth and darkwave crossover. I’ve been on an intense binge diet of The Artist when he was formally known as Prince. Everyone knows his hits, Kiss, Raspberry Beret, Purple Rain etc. but his early back catalogue reveals gold that far eclipses his later number ones. These tracks have literally been on constant rotation keeping me sane and dancing for past weeks.

Controversy and Dirty Mind are both funky electro pop simplicity at it’s BEST.
