The Glimmers, who hail from Belgium, have teamed up with Nordic cosmic-gods Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas, with also Kenneth Bager lending a hand for their next release “Theme from Atlantis” - out now on Glimmers’ label “Diskimo”. Beautiful dreamy, leftfield laidback cosmic-disco.
Something to fit the theme is John Forde’s “Atlantis” (originally released in 1978) that was on the “Dirty Space Disco” compilation, released on Joakim’s Tigersushi’s label.
The Glimmer Twins have been spinning tunes since 1987 and have always shown huge diversity in there sets with a mix of disco, house, electro, classics and hip hop.
Their remixes are also extremely diverse, remixing for such players as Bloc Party, The Killers, New Order, Roxy Music, Isolee, Phoenix, Munk, Snow Patrol, Calvin Harris, Shirley Bassey, Junkie XL and the Chemical Brothers.
This wide array of influences is present on their new LP ‘Gee Gee Fazzi’, which contains collaborations with Princess Superstar, Freeform Five, Lindstrom & Prins Thomas, Optimo Espacio, Kenneth Bager, Ray Mang, Foxylane, Baby G, CJ Bolland and many more. It’s a funky ride through disco roots and techno dreams, and what makes this an even better listen is that each track flows into the next, seemlessly.
