Das Pop is a Belgian band, founded in the town of Ghent. A few bells might be ringing - their 2007 track “Fool for Love” was red hot, receiving remix action from the likes of SebastiAn, Aeroplane, Yuksek and Brodinski.
Das Pop’s latest tune “Underground” was featured on the rejected Fabriclive mix that Justice did not so long ago. “Underground” has a warming late 80s/early 90s vibe to it and just sounds so soothing, so simple. Take a listen to it here.
And as expected, there is going to be some remixes floating around. There’s already been a Kids Gloves remix in the air so go on a search for that one. Even our very own Van She have chipped in to produce a nice ‘clubby’ version of “Underground but I got some questions to ask: Has Busy P changed his ways and gone all Crookers on us? Is Van She Tech releasing remixes under their band name of just Van She and totally ditching Tech? Or maybe this is just due to poor tagging of tracks hmmm! Whats the story here readers?
The horror 8-bit duo Crystal Castles have their self titled album coming out March 18th on Last Gang Records, containing 16 epic tracks. One track that stands out for me is “Vanished”, containing a more C. Castles’ flavoured vocal of Van She’s “Sex City”. Sounds interesting thats for sure.
In terms of tours that are coming up, props to my man Josh Jakq for getting one of my heroes Fred Falke to tour the land of Oz. Expect to see him around April 4.
Also, the Van She “Cat & the Eye” tour starts in two days.. Look here for the full list of venues where they will be playing. I will be lucky enough to see them in Geelong and then a set later on in the night by yours truely Van She Tech. Bliss.
