Pivot - In The Blood

First official video by the first Australian band to be signed to warp.

PIVOT

I feel like Ive been posting a bit of stuff being dropped on Warp, but everything they have been releasing has just been so damn good. Pivot are a band that I should have picked up on earlier cos I read a few posts about them, but never listened to it because, well, theres just too much new shit being blasted across blogs these days and you cant listen to EVERYTHING. But these boys (who supported Battles recently here in Australia) really are something special. Calculated, instrumental, electronica/post rock, and I could just imagine this being amazing live. So yeah, give these a listen. wavesatnightTM guarantee you will like it, unless you dont like music, or dont have ears, in which case why are you even reading this music blog? You should be seeing someone about your ear problem I suggest. I guess you could hear out of the holes in your head where your ears used to be though. Just the acoustics wouldnt be anywhere as good as a normal, non deformed ear canal…

Clark

Warp Records, home of !!!, Grizzly Bear, Battles, Boards Of Canada, Aphex Twin, Jamie Lidell etc, constantly release some of the most interesting and experimental electronica around. This is no exception. Turning Dragon is the new album by Clark, and it is such an appropriate title. These tracks are loud, abrasive IDM and flow so well, and listening back on his previous albums, he has produced a far more refined sound.

Flying Lotus

Well, last night was shit. The Renderers are like 90 years old and boring. Hopefully this will be better tonight. Im heading down to Miss Libertines on Franklin St tonight to catch Flying Lotus, the new-ish addition to the label Warp, home of all good kinds of fucked up electronica. This is all really going on his EP, Reset, and this video above. Might just be pleasantly surprised. If your in the city and want something to do, get there before 10:30 for tickets on the door. Its only $10 or something crazy like that.
