Just adding to my post last week featuring DJ Agent 86; he’s been kind enough to share his amazing remix of the classic Pink Floyd anthem ‘Another Brick In The Wall’. You’ll be happy to know that he doesn’t steer away from the original much at all, only to amplify the bassline, keeping in tact David Gilmour’s famous guitar solo. (This is light years away from that murderous Eric Prydz remix of the same tune in 2007)

Modular psych-gypsies Tame Impala have been playing this hauntingly good cover of Blueboy’s ‘Remember Me’ at their live shows recently; stepping up the drums and including layers of wailing guitar – it comes close to improving on the original.

New offerings from Relish in the form of Headman. The A side track Dreampieces comes with an edit from the ‘man’ himself and also receives a dark, murky re-rub from Japanese producer Zongamin.
On the flip is an equally impressive track with dominating vocal surges from Sydney’s Cassette Kids frontwoman Katrina Noorbergen. I highly recommend the C90’s remix – synthesizer fury that almost tops nine minutes in length.

That’s the sound of a heart, like a clock. Mine was on overdrive this morning but I came out with a drivers license out of it so it was all well worth it. I’m doing yet another LOTP post as I can’t stop loving them. In my opinion, LOTP is the Klaxons of 2008. Not so much hyped at the moment (I’m basing that on the fact that I don’t have 20+ LOTP remixes compared to “Atlantis to Interzone” alone) but they will all hype hype hype x10 verrrry soon. Also their clip for their latest single “Heartbeat” is probably my favourite music clip thus far of anything I’ve seen in 2008.

LATE OF THE PIER – HEARTBEAT

There’s a Hot Chip remix floating around but my pick of the bunch is the Zongamin remix (I wouldn’t call it _that_ much of a remix if you get my drift…). Buy the 12″, CD single or the 7″ at Juno homies.
